CONDUCT BACKHOE LOADER OPERATIONS

COURSE DURATION:  10 Days  

This course is designed to give trainees a wide range of knowledge and skills that will enable them to work autonomously as professional plant operators in the Civil Construction field.

The training provides a foundation of knowledge, safety awareness, care of machines and operating techniques.

On completion of training, operators will quickly improve their production range if on the job experience is provided.

 

COURSE CONTENT:

Occupational health and safety

Construct manhole

Plan and prepare work

Construct footings

Hazard identification and risk assessment 

Construct step trench

Pre-start and after start checks

Battering trenches

General maintenance

Excavate around pipes

Shut down procedure

Backfill, compact trench, level surface

Calculations

Load truck

Set up backhoe

Change attachments

Trench excavation

Operate loader/backhoe as crane

  

ACCREDITATION/CERTIFICATION 

A trainee successfully completing the course will be issued with:

-        CTM’s Course Report, outlining the trainees overall performance

-        National OH&S Certificate of Competency Code LB (Operator of Front End Loader/Backhoe Combination), issued by the NSW WorkCover Authority

-         Statement of Attainment – BCCPO3001B Conduct backhoe/loader operations

This course is part of the civil construction training package BCC30703 and is Nationally Recognised.

Industry Relevance & Employment Opportunities

This program will give the operator the knowledge and skills that will enable them to commence a career in the Civil Construction Industry.

 

Employment opportunities may exist in the following areas:

-        Earthmoving Contractors

-        Local Government Departments.

This give you the prerequisites/procedures required to complete the course,
although the course material is dated 1995 it is still current.

 

This course is subject to change and like other training providers, CTM Training Solutions, must review delivery if there are insufficient enrolments.
