COURSE DURATION: 5 Days

This course is designed to give trainees a wide range of knowledge and skills that will enable them to work autonomously as professional Scaffolders in the civil construction, building, mining and transport fields.

The training provides a foundation of knowledge, safety awareness, care of lifting equipment and slinging techniques.

On completion of training, scaffolders will have the knowledge and skill to work safely and productively in the construction industry.

COURSE CONTENT::

Occupational health and safety	Framework props, tubular steel and scaffold accessories
Plan and prepare work	Builders hoist
Hazard identification and risk assessment	Tubular scaffold (independent pole)
Fibre and synthetic ropes	Tubular scaffold (bird cage and mobile)
FSWR anchorage and attachments	Tubular scaffold (spur))
Timber planks, steel planks, handrails and ladders	Suspended stage
Frame scaffolds	Unit frame scaffolds
Mobile scaffold	Hoarding scaffolds for demolition

ACCREDITATION/CERTIFICATION

A trainee successfully completing the course will be issued with::

CTM’s Course Report, outlining the trainees overall performance

- National OH&S Certificate of Competency Code SB (Scaffolding basic) issued by the NSW WorkCover Authority.

Industry Relevance & Employment Opportunities

This program will give the operator the knowledge and skills that will enable them to commence a career in the Civil Construction or transport or mining industries. Employment opportunities may exist in the following areas:

-- Building Industry

- Mining

- Fabrication Industry.
